My husband missed a typo on our certified marriage certificate when he picked it up this past Friday. I called to ask about the process to obtain a new one - to be met with a huff, a sigh, and a very fake closing at the end of the call. Going to the hall to get the replacement certificate wasn't any more pleasant. The clerk seemed very put out to have to make a new version, made a face when she saw when it had been originally submitted (just over 2 weeks prior, when I was advised it would take 2 weeks to come back from the state), and proceeded with the poor attitude when I noticed there was yet another issue with the certificate - all information was swapped between the groom and bride! She grudgingly created a new one ("I have to start all over again") - and she misspelled October. The final correct certificate was printed and stamped, then slid across the counter with a very impersonal "Here you go" and nothing else, then she disappeared into the other room with her back to me. No checking if I had any other questions or needed anything else.
